Our sheep hold is based on the production of lamb’s meat. Our livestock consists of 25 ewes and 2 rams. The rams are named Fleck and Top Star. We got Fleck in 2014 and Top Star came in 2016. Both are of the Texel race. They are going to continue the good breeding line which their predecessor – Leopold – has brought into the herd. We buy our breeding rams only from well reputable breeders. Our ewes are of the race Texel and Gotland Fleece sheep. And as we use only rams of the Texel race we have some crossovers too. The lambs are born from late February to the beginning of April. The first lambs are ready for the slaughter by the end of July. An invaluable help by the sheep’s is our Border Collie named Aileen. |
